Nigeria backs its Miss World delegate for 75th edition

Miss World, established in 1951, is one of the oldest and most-watched international beauty competitions. Beyond traditional pageant criteria, participants are judged in part on their humanitarian work through the “Beauty with a Purpose” initiative, which has channelled funds into community projects around the world.

Nigeria has a celebrated history in international beauty pageants. The country first won the Miss World title in 2001, when Agbani Darego became the first African contestant to be crowned. Since then, Nigerian representatives have continued to feature prominently in global competitions, and the country has also produced winners and finalists at other major pageants.
